Waterways Committee

TWI is monitoring the work of the Town’s Waterways Committee as they revise and update the Town waterways regulations. These regulations, which relate to such items as live-aboards, anchoring, moorings, inoperable vessels, etc., are important to water quality and the quality of life around our ponds. Areas of Lake Tashmoo have been closed to shellfishing due, in part, to the density of boats in these areas.

While TWI respects the rights of boaters, the increase in recreational boaters, coupled with the increased needs of commercial boaters, threatens water quality in our ponds, particularly Lake Tashmoo.
